Front End Description
This site was the fourth installment of the parent site (poetsandquants.com) and is based off the same custom parent WordPress theme we created for that site a few months back. This is a redesign of the site we first created back in 2013 for the client.
Back End Description
The home page, sidebar widgets, and a number of other areas on the site are driven by a custom admin where the site admins can easily assign custom content to show. This site also has a custom registration form which auto integrates with their mailing list software.
Lessons Learned/Random Thoughts
A successful parent theme is not an end all be all theme, but something that is lightweight and can be easily added to. This is a perfect example of this and I am very happy with how this turned out as well as made the parent theme better and better with every child theme created off of it.
