WordPress 6.1 is the latest major release in 2022 and contains a number of enhancements which focus on usability and performance enhancements

A few of the highlights:

• A new theme: Twenty Twenty-Three
• More block templates/styles
• Cleaner layouts and document settings
• A new API (Style Engine) for more consistent CSS rules
• Improved performance and accessibility (documented here )

If you have not done so already – download the update or simply use your existing installation of WordPress to update your site. Either way – this is an excellent time to make a backup copy of your site(s) before upgrading.
